Professional Business Characteristics
In the world of
business these days, there are many characteristics and attributes that can be
found. I want to focus on three core characteristics:
1-Confidence
2-Hard Work
3-Enthusiasm
Confidence, or swag
as it is more commonly known, is essential for success not only in the business
world but in everything we do. Confidence gives people the ability to produce
results and gives them motivation to do things that they probably wouldn’t accomplish
if they hadn’t put their minds to it.
Confidence is like a shot of “Michael’s secret stuff” from space jam; it
gives us super human powers for a moment, and it screams to employers, “HEY!
HE/SHE CAN DO THIS!!”
“Work like Hell!” as
Arnold Schwarzenegger said “if you want to win, there is absolutely no way
around hard, hard work. Just remember, you can’t climb the ladder of success
with your hands in your pockets.” (Belen, 2012) .
In life greatness is usually defined by he or she who outlasted his or her
opponent in the war of hard work. Hard work displays in big bold letters to
those around you that you are dedicated to the cause.
Enthusiasm is that
person who walks into the room and changes the mood of the whole room into
postiveness. It produces energy and
gives everyone vigor to achieve their goals. I had a coach in high school that
used to say, “You can just go through the motions or you can play like it was
the last thing you chose to do before you die” (Howell, 2007) .
Confidence, hard
work, and enthusiasm are three simple but profound characteristics that will
shoot you to the top in the professional business world. Read, study, and apply,
them and they will open those locked doors that are in front of you.
